After I had told my boyfriend that I wanted him to leave we hadn’t really been talking much about anything. I went to work yesterday and when I came home at night he was drunk. He usually isn’t that big of a drinker, but he was pretty messed up.
He said he didn’t want to leave, he had nowhere to go, he didn’t want to lose me, he loved me so much, he couldn’t live without me, etc. etc. I really didn’t know what to say. Then he started hugging and kissing me and I pulled away because I can’t stand the smell of alcohol. He said we should just have sex and he would change my mind. He’s damn good, but not THAT good.
I told him I wouldn’t have sex with him when he’s drunk and he got angry, insisting there was another guy and that was why I wanted him to leave. I said there wasn’t anybody else but he wouldn’t believe me. Then he kinda started slobbering all over me and I wish I had had my cell phone on me, but stupid me, I had left it in my purse. I can’t believe he was acting like this with a cop car right outside the window but I guess he wasn’t thinking straight. Anyway, I did end up screaming for help (yeah, Cat_Doc, that scream that you love so much…;)).
The cop was right up and when my boyfriend saw him he first asked what the hell he was doing in the apartment. The cop said he just wanted to make sure I was OK. So then by boyfriend started accusing him of being “the one” I’ve been screwing around with. The cop tried to calm him down, but he wouldn’t. My boyfriend yelled at him “You want her? Fine, you can have her!” and he grabbed me and pushed me towards the cop. It was unreal like out of some stupid movie. Long story short, my boyfriend was arrested and hauled off to jail I guess.
They had me fill out some papers for an order of protection, but honestly I was still so shocked I’m not even sure what I signed or what any of it means. I guess I have to go to court for it at some point? I don’t really know what’s going to happen. I doubt it's even enough to get a protective order. I have some bruises on my shoulder blades from when he pushed me, but that's about it. I’m not even sure of all the charges or whether he can get out on bail or what. I think he was still on probation, but I’m not sure. He hasn’t called me to bail him out yet and right now I don’t even want to try and find out. I just hope they won’t just let him go and he’ll suddenly show up here.
I should probably call my “cop buddy” to find out more, but I’m so embarrassed about everything that happened...
I have to say though he (and I don’t even know his first name…) has been amazingly helpful. Great guy...with a ring on his finger, btw. ;)
Just thought I’d update you. Thanks for listening.Maybe you’ll see me on Jerry Springer one day.
Tough story Cass............your boyfriend is a REAL JERK! The protection order should fly.......contact your Cop friend and ask his advise.
He showed his TRUE feelings.......don't bail him out. Jail will allow him (and you) the time to sort out how to move on.
Good luck

Thanks RKT. It'll be OK.
Just to remind me why it's all worth it ....
Thanks for reaffirming my belief that "Sometimes there IS a Cop around when you need them".
;)
Some of us may have a little experience in that arena, Cass.
One suggestion, now... and I'm surprised the Cop didn't do this unless there were extenuating circumstances...
Do your best to take some pictures of the bruising. If they don't need them for Court, take them for yourself to help your memory out later.
Most cameras have self timers on them and you can use a shelf or something to set the camera on to take it. Try to hold a ruler beside the bruises, so that there is a certain scale.
If all else fails, go back to the Cops Cruiser and have him take them for you. :D
Glad you are OK, sorry you went thru it.
Now, You GO, Girl!! :D

It was nice of your boyfriend to turn himself in like that.
I think the order of protection should not be a problem. It sounds to me like things seem to be working out. If he's not calling you, he may have finally accepted reality. Just make sure you show up to the court dates and tell the Judge how it is. Either he's going to play all sorts of mind games with you to try to get back with you, or he'll give up.
Keep us posted!
One Big Ass Mistake America
As it turns out, it's a good thing that you didn't ask the cop to stop parking in your spot. I'm glad that it worked out well. Better to get all this over with now.

Don't worry Cass you still have me

Cass,
Really, this is the reason that some of us are here for.

Yup. He sure was around when I needed him. It's funny how it worked out because he's always there when I get home from work and I guess my boyfriend just couldn't wait to get his hands on me as soon as I got home...
They had a female dispatcher take pics after it happened, and then a friend of mine took "progress shots" later. Because of my clotting disorder it looks a LOT worse than it is. Even where the cop grabbed me so I wouldn't fall I have a major bruise...If all else fails, go back to the Cops Cruiser and have him take them for you. :D
ThanksGlad you are OK, sorry you went thru it.

Well, he did call asking me to bail him out, but the bail is set so high there's NO WAY I could even if I wanted to. Apparently they tacked on an assault on an officer charge because he pushed me towards the cop. At least they didn't refer to me as a "deadly weapon".
Yeah, it all worked out well, I guess. But I still feel terrible. Three years is a long time to be with someone... :(
Yeah, I noticed he's on the prowl. :D
Thanks, Creeker.
It's funny how I only ended up on RP because of my race car ticket...and somehow it ended up becoming this life-changing event...thanks everybody for your support.![]()
