Yup. Had a chat with him again. He said he'd be happy to stick around, but if my boyfriend refuses to leave, then he can't legally make him go. He said I'd have to have him evicted through the court. Doesn't that take forever? And I'm sure things at home will be just peachy while that's going on...

In any event, he said to let him know when I decide to "ask my boyfriend to leave" and he'll make sure things don't turn violent. So at least I don't have to worry about that part... Now I definitely owe the guy a cold Pepsi. ;)

Cass, to answer your question about the beverages or anything from the public, no cop will take something that is "open" - there are so much a$$holes in the world who will spit in a drink or in some food or do anything close to that before they offer it to a cop. But a closed can of coke or anything like that would be great.

For myself, I don't take food while on duty in uniform when I don't see the whole time what they do with it. And I can't understand those cops who order something from a pizza-taxi to the station. Most of their drivers are stupid little low lifes and get tickets the whole time. I really don't want to know what they do with the food they transport to the station.

About your boyfriend, the other guys told you enough about that case. And be sure, they are not only your big brothers, they are your father, your uncle and your grandfather in one person because a cop will see more within a week a civilian will see in his/her whole life.

And now just a compliment, you have a great style of writing for your age. As you see in the right corner under my LEO tag, I'm from Germany and often wonder how young americans write. With your style you show that your time in school wasn't for nothing and that you learned something in that time. Go ahead with that.

BTW, I wasn't in the USA in 1990!

No, I don't have a crystal ball and I did not stay at the Holiday Inn Express last night. I just know it is a matter of time.

Heck, I don't even trust the pimple-faced kids at McDonald's... In middle school we put a "lucky penny" in the batter for the Christmas cookies for the faculty. One of the teachers broke off a crown biting into it. They wrote a whole manual regarding open food on campus.

They sure are a lot more look-up-to-worthy than most.

Awe. Thanks. That's very sweet. The library has always been my refuge, and now they even pay me (peanuts) for hanging out here. You hang around books and semi-literate people and hope it rubs off. ;)

LOL !!! One down. How many more to go??? I'll track him down one day and cure him of all his "allergies". Maybe now that he doesn't have to worry about child support anymore, he'll come out of hiding.

    I know you're right...

But as I was told, I cannot legally kick him out. Doesn't matter if he's on the lease (which he isn't), pays rent (which he doesn't) or anything else. Just the fact that he's been staying there for a long time is enough to protect him. :(

Anybody know about the eviction process? Do I need a lawyer for that??

I don't think you need a lawyer, it just depends on where you live. If any of this abuse is recent, you could also just file a restraining order and that should fix the problem.

Then again, you could always have your new boyfriend move in, that should take care of the problem.

I don't know the state laws where you reside, Speed Racer, but I have heard mention of "established residency" before.

Out here in Arizona, if his name is not on the lease, he has no receipts to prove rent payment and you two are not legally married, all you have to do is order him to leave. If he refused, he would be subject to arrest for criminal trespass. The landlord/tenant act does not apply to a bum boyfriend leaching off a gainfully employed girlfriend.

We would normally allow him about ten minutes to gather clothing for a few days, health and hygiene items and advise him to contact the court for a civil stand-by order at a later date to come get the rest of his belongings with a police officer/deputy sheriff present to keep the peace.

Oh man, I wish it was that easy here. The whole established residency more or less, but it sure would be nice if it was a simple trespass situation like you mentioned for most circumstances....

Unfortunately, in my state the same thing applies, including parents who want their kids out and visitors that have overstayed their welcome.

In my state, you would go to the Magistrates Office, which is the local Judge, and ask for a simple Eviction. There may be a small fee involved.

Someone at the Office will help you out, its what they do.

I assume that now that you have grown up some, do you think that when you started to see your "boyfriend", you were looking to him as a Father-figure because you hadn't known any other role model for one? Just wondering.

I guess I should move to Arizona before getting into another relationship.

I did some research and I believe I have to give my boyfriend ten days to voluntarily move out (have to double check the time, I don't have the laws in front of me right now). After that, I can file for eviction. It'll take about a month. Even a house guest who stayed for maybe a month would need to be evicted. Someone who has lived there for years definitely falls into that category. Doesn't matter if they ever contributed anything or not. So the cop is right. He can't make him leave. I can't imagine filing for eviction and still having to live with him!!

You completely hit the nail on the head. I didn’t want to come right out and say it because it’s pretty embarrassing.

All I’ve ever wanted was someone in my life to look up to.

I never met my father, I was an “accident”, my mom had me at 19, dropped out of college, partied and went from one relationship to the next. Some of her “boyfriends” were losers, some were great guys. The losers usually lasted longer than the good guys.

I’d get attached to someone, only for my mom to give them the boot or for them to bail. One of them really took on the daddy role. I came home from school one day and his stuff was thrown out on the lawn.

When I was 14 my mom hooked up with yet another drunk. By 15 I was so tired of having to miss school for a week at a time to hide my bruises that I told my mom “either he goes or I go”. He didn’t go, so I left home (with her permission), stayed with friends for a while, then got a job/s and got my own place.

A few months later I met my boyfriend and he moved in with me . He was the first guy who stuck around. For the first time in my life I felt loved and cared for, and had some stability. We’ve been together for three years and it’s going to be very difficult to end that relationship. No, he isn’t perfect, no, he’s not a good role model, but he was always there for me. I think part of why I’m reluctant to end the relationship is because I don’t want to be like my mom, jumping from one relationship to the next.

I think I did a decent job raising myself, but it shouldn’t have been that way. I didn’t expect someone to coddle and spoil me. I just wanted someone to care about me and guide me. Someone who would be in charge so that I wouldn’t have to carry all the responsibility. Just someone who would give a phuck !!! :(

For what its worth, ...this being the Internet and all... you seem to have a fairly good grasp of your reality and what you need to do, and a pretty good attitude considering what you've been through.

I think you owe it to yourself to maintain your Independence and insight for some time before you can really give yourself to another in a healthy Wife/Husband relationship.

By your own realization, its not going to happen with this immature clownmeister.

I agree, with what you've gone through in the past you may not feel you are capable of being on your own. However you are much brighter than others your age who post on this forum. Get rid of the dead weight.
