Question about warrants

We aren't sure either.

Hundreds, maybe thousands of people with warrants walk around major cities everyday. Having a warrant where I am at is not an immediate ticket to jail. I advise people regarding warrants all of the time and release them. A child support warrant would be one of the least likely types that I would arrest somebody for. It's a civil issue that some legislative moron decided to make a criminal offense.

I understand that this DOES sound ridiculous, and in part it is. Lets just say it is more of a civil case that could turn into a criminal case.

I guess I'm just kinda lost and don't know what to do because the situation is more complicated then just a warrant there are children involved and I was told that they are gonna skip state (illegally). The civil part involves violation of court orders.

There is not a whole lot of time to go through the courts, which is seriously being considered, along with a few other avenues such as children protective services.

I realize that it is just a child support order and not top priority, but there has been cases where a child support case in some states shows up a radius of 1,nationwide, right along with murders and rapists. (child suport ordrer in arears more then 8 thousand dollars out of PA) and that would make it a higher priority, I would think.

Since you SHOULD be contacting your local LE/Department of Family Services/etc about this matter AND you're being MUCH less than forthright about what is going on - I beseech the mods to close this thread (waste of bandwidth and time)...

You have spent a lot more time on here about this " important " warrant than dealing with the police whoi could actually do something about it.

Make the proper PD aware of the warrant and than you are done. If they have the time and manpower to go serve it , assuming that it is serveable....

I have stopped people with warrants from other states and found that even though they were in NCIC ( the nationwide database ) , they were not serveable due to their being no extradition. I can even have a warrant from Marylad ( 14 miles away) and cannot serve it without extradition.
