First off, thank you for a great, informative online community.
Here's my question: How do I go about setting up G.I. Bill payments for a Regional Police Academy? I just got hired with the Carrollton, TX PD, and my Academy begins on August 10th, at the NCTCOG in Arlington. The personnel officer assigned to my file told me that I could draw G.I. Bill during the Academy, and from doing some Google-Fu I discovered I could also draw this benefit during my FTO period. But I have found no specific instructions on how to do this, and the aforementioned officer did not know either.
I will attempt to contact the VA tomorrow, but any guidance from people who have already been through this process or know how to work it will be greatly appreciated.
If it helps, I am entitled to the MGIB - Selected Reserve (Chapter 1606).
