Defense f/ ticket

Hey i got a quick ? I got a ticket for having a smoked lisence plate cover. The next day I removed it, Broke it into 3 pieces, and took a picture of my unobstructed plate, and the broken cover on the gruond below my car, and on the back is a Date from the photo lab as to when it was dating... THink i will get the charges dismissed? If im representing myself, what motion could i make???

Every jurisdiction handles offenses differently. Here in the city it is a fix it ticket, but in the county you WILL pay the $67 fine.

Look up the law you were cited under and see what it says. Some laws have provisions for dismissing charges if the problem is corrected.

35$, but it IS considered surchargable, and this will be my 5th surchargable event in 5 years, will lead to an automatic suspension for 60 days, will lead to loss of job and company car .... the commonwealth is pretty good about equipment violations if immediate action is taken...

its 5 Events... one accident, reat-end style OOPS .
then i got a ticket 70 in a 55, (Thought it was 65 honestl)
Then i wass riding my motorcycle and i was a new rider and lost controll. 1 vehicle accident and a ticket for failure to maintain control (so there's 2 events right there) and the judge was a huge hardass on me when i appealed that ticket.
So theres my 4 Events. 1 more and thats 5 Massachusetts can be a bugger when it comes to stuff like this


AND its gonna kill me come time for LE Jobs... ive taken a few tests, filled out a few apps, but i know that my driving record will kill me. Other than that im 100% model citizen, perfect cop material (ive heard that from a few trooper friends) Never even TRIED pot lol Being a cop has been a life goal, i wont give up easily, but i know my histroy in the car will be hard to get over

Hey, I've actualy taken an EVOC class, but I think I really SHOULD take a driver safety class to remind me when it is, and isn't, appropriate to use that training... seen too many split heads from MVC's..
So here's how it went.. After hitting on the cute older chick that was late for her hearing, I realized I was the only person 1) wearing a shirt, tie, and left my sneakers in my car in change for my shiny shoes... 2) the only person Early for his hearing. In Mass, for Citation appeals, you first appear before a Magistrate and a representative from the department that issues the citation (not necessarily the same cop that issued it) So I notice when he's calling absent people's names, that the older Trooper isnt the trooper that pulled me over... So I finally get called in. The magistrate says "What do we have for Mr Smith" "A felony sir *long pause* He had plastic over his plate making it hard to read the plate" "Did you take it off? "says the magistrate. "Yes sir, and here is a picture of my car with the plate cover off and broken into 3 pieces yeilding it unusable, and on the back of the picture is a date from the photo lab dated 3 days after the violation, and I was hoping you'de take my immediate actinos to get my vehicle into compliance with the laws when considering the appeal" " That'll be $3000.00" "Payable to you? Or shal i spit it with the trooper" "HA.. well, you know why we dont like those right?" "Yes sir" "Have a nice day (looking at the form, see NR (not responsible) on the "hearing's finding's" line. Yay!
Now, I just have to win that case that I had Neon's on my motorcycle...
