    Question Motorized recreational vehicle regulations......

I was just curious as to what the regulations are for having a motorized anything that isn't a car? For instance, what are the regulations for golf carts, motorized scooters, quads, dune-buggies, etc. etc.? I'm curious as to whether or not there is an age limit or if these type of vehicles are allowed on the roadways or sidewalks? Any information would be quite helpful. Thanks!

I won't let the girls have them until they have a license to drive. How unreasonable am I being? Too tight?

On a side note, how much would being a wife of a retired cop help me out, should I decide to go out to the road and pummel one of these little sh!ts that keep driving their little motor toys by my house and honking the horn?!?!?!?!?! I think Batman is polishing up his scope. Heehee!!!! ;)

In NV, to operate any motorized vehicle on the public roadway or a place where the public has access, you must have a DL.

For the equipment to be on the road, it must meet lighting, braking, reflectors, and additional requirements.

Anything less than 50cc doesn't have to be registered here. Golf carts have special provisioning.

No matter the vehicle, you must comply with traffic laws.

golf carts can be legally driven on public roads in texas, but only in certain areas.

my city just outlawed motorized scooters and neighborhood electric vehicles on any public road.

Honest to goodness, this is a continual thing. I don't know where the parents of these kids are, but it's really tickin' me off. They use the golf cart like it's a launching pad. They have one on the front and then drive real fast, slam on the brakes and the kid flies off the front. As for the scooters, I can say no til I'm blue in the face. I don't think young kids should be able to ride these in the road and if they are granted permission to ride on the sidewalks, then they should be required to wear helmets.

Sincerely, The Fussy Nag of a Neighborhood Mother

    Hmmmph!!!!

I"d still like to get more information on the different regs in different areas. Norm? What's the little lady say about Georgia?

IN PA, if it has an electric motor or a gas engine and is on a public highway, you must have a DL, plates, insurance etc. So a golf cart and other assorted toys cannot be driven on the road. There is an exception for motorized wheelchairs.
