VASCAR can only clock one vehicle at a time but if I have 2 cars essentially going the same sped, clock the first one at say 55 in a 35 , I can stop the #2 car and write him for Driving at an Unsafe Speed. Less points and fine though.

We also use ESP which is 2 infrared beams crossing over the road 3 feet apart. It can clock a vehicle and reset itself in 1/10 of a second. SO if I had 4 cars following one another down the road, I could zing all 4.

To track multiple cars with Lidar, you simply point and shoot at one, get the reading, then move to the next one.
Why would you stop the slowest and not the fastest? If that so that the guy cannot argue that you actually got the speeds mixed up and stopped him for the higher speed of another vehicle?

Why are you stopping the slower vehicles? Always take the lead car, stands up every time in court.
Speaking of court, in Fairfax County, VA the judges were tossing out all the Lidar cases. I remember it had something to do with a defense attny fighting the accuracy and validity of the equipment. It appeared that many officers were calibrating the Lidar through distance only. Does anyone know if things have changed?

gdowkpcn i agree that radar is the old reliable.

Although, I was able to pick up vehicles up to 3000' on a clear day with the Lidar.

Regardless, way to slow 'em down.

that's messed up. i use the same kustom golden eagle and it is so habitual for me to release the hold and then promptly hit the fastest vehicle button on the remote. i can normally get them right before they spot me.

the one thing i've found though, is every once in a while the fastest vehicle will show a speed higher than what they're actually traveling.
