I am on the verge of an engagment and my boyfriend has worked for a small agency in Nor Cal for 2 years now. He has been thinking about applying to LAPD recently and I have mixed feelings. Is LAPD so demanding of its officers time the first couple of years that they barely have time for their wives or family? I don't mean to sound pathetic, I just wanted to verify whether some rumors I have heard were true or false. Thank you!:confused:

What he said!! It can be done. I have had the same wife for 35 years and 28 of them were being a cop. Lots of missed time, birthdays, holidays etc.
