Indecent Exposure question

At a recent Mardi Gras parade I saw a woman flash her shirt up at the car I was in. She was wearing a very skimpy bra underneath but I would have classified it as indecent exposure.

I was in a car with a police officer but I wasn't sure weather I should tell him or not since my word my not be enough and he didn't didn't see it.

If you were the police officer in the car with me and I had told you, what would you have done?

Since you would have "clasified it as indedent exposure" you must know the elements of that offense.

Oh, I would have jumped out of my car, made the arrest, screamed for backup and had the entire police force there as a riot ensued.... But, by God, I would have made the arrest......:eek:

From what I have read, it is illegal in LA to expose breasts, but doing so during Mardi Gras is one of the few times New Orleans PD obviously exercises a lot of discretion. From watching many of the Mardi Gras "COPS" episodes, they will go after men and women for exposing genitalia.

We don't know if this was in LA. Many places in Texas had Mardi Gras parades, and I suspect other states do as well.

And I would like to see the law, or see if the OP actually knows what he is talking about. I don't think bras are llegal to show.

+1 As you posted earlier, any beach is going to have women exposing more that the average bra does.

But even if it were full exposed breasts, it would be dumb to try to enforce the letter of the law under those circumstances. No one is getting hurt so it's time to live and let live.

Okay. These are the requirements of indecent exposure:

No person may be convicted of indecent exposure unless the State has proved beyond a reasonable doubt each element of the crime. These elements are:

First, willfully; √

Second, and in a lewd manner; √

Third, exposed his/her person/penis/vagina; X

Fourth, in a (public place)/(place where there were present other persons to be offended/annoyed thereby). √
