Maryland State Troopers...Chime in

Gentlemen -

I am going for the orientation for the State Police on the 20th of this month. A few questions i wanted to ask from the actual Troopers in this state:

How do you like your career? What are the ups and downs? Any regrets?

When in the academy, were you ever discouraged to the point of where you wanted to quit? How difficult was it, and did it change you as a man?

What stood out in your search specifically about MD? And, what state did you choose prior to become a state trooper?

Lastly, what part of MD do you patrol mostly? And, what do your daily duties involve???


I am seriously considering this position if i become accepted. These are just some questions i have for now. Jumping into a career this serious without researching it, i feel, is just wreckless. Please feel free to add anything i may have left out.
