Really Tough Question

I got a citation for expired tabs, no proof of insurance. I got both dismissed; however, the judge changed the citation to a speeding ticket for 7 MPH over. It's important to know that I was cited for tabs and insurance, not speeding. Looking at the paper from the courthouse, I see 3 items: FL RENEW EXPIRED REG <-2 MTHS (Dismissed), OP MOT VEH W/OUT INS (Dismissed), SPEEDING 7 MPH OVER LIMIT (Committed). What gets me is that I was only cited for tabs and insurance.

I live in Washington state. I've searched the RCW and found no provision for this action. Does anyone know if the judge can do this, or has anyone else had this happen? I've never heard of it.

I did this via mail, otherwise I would've just asked the judge.

I dont think they can change a charge without your consent. I change charges all the time to something else with the consent of the offender. Only one way to find out.CALL THE COURT.

In my state , no ins is a $300 fine and a 90 day suspension.

A speeding ticket at 7 mph over would be...$121.50 and 2 points. We also lose points at a rate of 3 per year. The reg vio would be at least $109.50.

So here , the 7 over would be welcomed by any and all over the other tickets.

This has to be a troll. I've seen odd questions, but no judge is going to completely make up a traffic charge and find someone guilty. I smell bull****.
