Desperately need info/advice regarding disgusting bogus charges

I'm asking here on behalf of a friend who is going through an extremely ugly divorce and custody battle. The latest chapter in the neverending saga is a series of photographs that her husband submitted to the family court judge today. They show the couples dog humping (for lack of a better word) their son. The child is fully clothed and does not appear to be in any distress. He appears to be about 18 months in the pictures, and he is 3 years old now.

Her husband claims that SHE somehow got the dog to do what he's doing to the child and that SHE took the photographs.

In his submission to the family court (regarding custody/visitation and such) he states that he has contacted the FBI regarding the photographs and that they referred him to the local police department. He claims he handed the "evidence" over to the police and that he expects them to pass the case on to the county prosecutor's sex crime and child abuse unit.

This clearly is another attempt by him to gain/retain sole custody and to have her locked up and/or deported so he does not have to pay her alimony. She has been through SO much with this evil man, and I know he'll push and pursue this as hard as he can. This is literally making me sick because this man has done horrific things to my friend and he has filed bogus criminal charges before.

This may be a long shot, but is there anybody here who might be able any kind of info, insight or advice? What could she be charged with? And what is likely going to happen (initially and later on)? She is absolutely TERRIFIED that someone's going to kick down her door and drag her out in handcuffs. Is this actually a case for the FBI? Apparently, they just referred him to the local police. How strongly are authorities likely to persue this? And how do you prove that you did NOT take those pictures?

Has she considered asking her lawyer these questions?

I know it sounds crazy, but it just might work.

She ran out of money a LONG time ago due to the divorce proceedings. She's so deeply indebted that her divorce attorney bowed out. And Legal Aid can't help her because they won't take any cases that another lawyer has already touched (nor do they handle criminal cases).

I'm not really asking for legal advice, just hoping to get an idea on how police handle things if someone comes to them with those photographs and allegations. She just needs to know if they'll suddenly barge into her apartment or arrest her at work, or if she can expect a little more civility than that. Now she's back to looking over her shoulder all the time.

It's impossible for anyone here to say w/o seeing the pictures, etc. As a rule, we look at anything someone brings to us and there's a divorce involved, we generally take it with a grain of salt.

But what's going to happen is going to happen, nothing anyone here can do. Sounds like she has a lot more problems than this to deal with though.

I'm fairly sure the police will give her a chance to explain.

    Let me be more specific

I'm sorry. I think my question was way too broad because I was being too emotional (how could I not be?).

So please let me narrow it down to something more specific:

These are digital photographs which her husband claims to have found on one of their computers (he actually specifies that it was "HIS" computer). He gives a specific date and time that the pictures were allegedly taken and he conveniently was out of state on that day suggesting that it "MUST" have been his wife who took the pictures.

If there is anybody here who works computer crimes etc.:

Is there a way to establish WHEN a digital photograph was actually taken, with WHAT camera it was taken, WHEN it was put on a computer and IF and WHEN the date/time stamp has been tampered with? I know that if you edit a picture and save it under the same name, it'll automatically change the date. And I believe you can also manually change the properties of a digital photograph to anything you want (?). But do you then lose the original date or can that still be retrieved somehow?

Basically he is trying to frame her for something that she didn't do and I need to know if there's any way to establish the "history" of a digital photograph. In other words: If he had a picture that he took and changed it to a date when he was out of state, could he get away with it, or could investigators figure out that it was really taken and/or transferred to the computer at a different time?

There must be SOMEONE on here who knows this stuff, so if you could PLEASE help my friend out I would greatly appreciate it!!! It would somewhat ease her anxiety knowing that he can't get away with messing with dates on the pics.

    Thank you so much!

MAYBE an expert in digital photogrpahy or an expert in computer forensics but your not going to find one willing to do it for a divorce case. If the local cops do have the pictures Im sure they would want to interview her before any action was taken. If anything I would see them getting child protective services involved to make sure the child wasnt abused and was safe not a police investigation.
