    Question defamation of character?

I used to work for a tattoo studio, and another studio in the area has a public website, I don't know what happend or how it happend, but the guy from the other studio claims that I was calling, emailing, sending letters to him all this nasty stuff, and he mentions my FULL name numerous times in his blog. He says that I made numerous fake appointments at his shop, then didn't show up, now he wants to take me to court to pay his hourly rate for all missed appointments and court time. I also apparently shot out the windows in this shop, and his car (I have never shot any type of gun in my life) I don't believe the guy will take me to court, and I'm not worried about it because even if he did there is no way he could prove it because it never happend. I've never done such a thing, I have tried to reason with the guy through "MY" email but he just freaks out at me, and acts immature and writes more untrue things. I had stopped working for my studio a while ago, and this other guy is STILL writing stuff about me, and the studio I worked for. It doesn't make any sense because I left my job on an angry note and wouldn't be doing that shop any favors by harrassing their competition. The guy says that he's going to take me to the police, for harassment, etc. This man is crazy. Is there a way I can get my name removed from his website, I feel that it is defamation of character. I haven't done anything wrong, let alone do anything he is accusing me of. Does he really have the right to put my name out in public like that? I will be working at another shop in June and I don't need people seeing my name on some jerk's website claiming all these things that I haven't done making business bad for me. Is there anything I can do? I have consitered calling the guy and asking again to please revoke my name from his blog, however I am under the impression he would just hang up, and write more crap about me.

This is a civil matter, not a criminal one. You need to speak to an attorney about your options, as police don't enforce civil matters.

What you have is not a criminal issue It is simply words on paper, well...an internet site. You have a few options.

    1) Ignore it. Only you seem to be concenred. You make no mention of your current boss or customers saying anything. If you don't fuel the fire (ignore it), it just may go out!

    2) Get an attorney and have him send a cease and desist letter.

Not much a cop can do for you either way.
-In God we trust. All others, put your hands on the car and don't move.
