Qualifications/DQ's and Life styles of police vs fire/rescue careers

I have noticed that the disqualifications regarding police officer candidates/recruits (mostly drug related) seem to be much stricter than those for firefighter/emt/paramedic recruits. Why is this so? Also- On a different note- What are the major variations in lifestyles of these very different career paths? Finally- What kind of person would be best suited (personality wise) for either of these career choices?

    Thanks so much,

Can you think of a good reason ?

Why is this so? Also- On a different note- What are the major variations in lifestyles of these very different career paths?

I have no idea what you are asking. People are people, even when they aren't in uniform.

Finally- What kind of person would be best suited (personality wise) for either of these career choices?

One who wants the job and is qualified and qualifies to do it.

    Thanks so much,

What are the differences in duties between LEO and other jobs?

Also- On a different note- What are the major variations in lifestyles of these very different career paths?

I dunno, what ARE the major variations in lifestyles?

Finally- What kind of person would be best suited (personality wise) for either of these career choices?

Someone who has good morals/values, good work ethic, and is physically, mentally, and emotionally capable.

    Thanks so much,

This wasn't a college essay or homework of any kind, I'm simply curious to see your opinions on the questions.

Police officers enforce the law. If we break them, well then we are a bunch of hypocrites.

Its not like fire fighters are a bunch of pyros.....;)
