    Radaring on a Highway

Say I'm in some sort of high performance vehicle on a perfectly sunny day out and I come screaming past you at 150mph and show no sign of slowing down. If you were facing toward me so that you have to do a U-turn before pursuing me, would you even attempt to give me a citation?

We were doing a top speed run in a friends vehicle the other day and wondered how a police officer would react if we were to come into the sights of his radar gun.

No, I would not attempt to give you a citation.

I would take you to jail, and your "high performance vehicle" would get impounded. You'd have to spend the night or post bond.

    That is just asinine.

Not only would I turn around and go after you....I'd radio in and have any Officer within a 10 mile radius looking for you.

You would NOT receive a citation. You'd go to jail. As Citicop said it's just plain stupid and dangerous. The highway is not YOUR raceway.

If you want to kill yourself retard, go step in front of a train. Don't take an innocent family out in the process.

We understood we were endangering ourselves but we did it at a time and place where it was nearly impossible for anyone else to get harmed. What is law on when speeding switches from getting a ticket to get a ride to jail?

In Missouri, I have the ability to arrest for anything I can give you a ticket for. A summons is issued as a courtesy; it is less work for me, and less inconvenience for citizens who commit minor violations.

So, on the highway, if you are up past double the speed limit, *I* will arrest you.

Take it to a track, or you WILL wind up seriously hurting someone.

You said it was a perfectly sunny DAY. During daytime hours, you have more people out on the highway. And even if it was 3 AM you were still on a PUBLIC highway. There can be traffic on any highway at any time.

When your speed reached reckless driving is when you can go to jail. Anything over 100 MPH should be a trip before the Magistrate...IMHO

Thank you for an informative response. I posted this thread mainly because I got a good laugh last time I posted and couldn't seem to get a decent response out of any LEO.

Nearly impossible? So when you idiots do indeed kill someone and get to spend the rest of your life in prison (assuming you survive) you can comfort yourself by stating that it was "nearly impossible" for you to endanger anyone else.

What are you 12 years old?

I read your previous posts also- it could be that you were not answered to you satisfaction because you acted like a complete jackass when you posted. Seems to be a trend for you.

You missed the point that I wasn't being serious. I just posted this thread because last time I posted here all I got was a bunch of unhelpful posts.
