Happened once on foot, with about 20 teenage gang members. I got hold of the biggest & told him whatever happened he was going to lose some teeth. They all laughed and said I was ok.

Happened to me only once. I laid the biggest mouth out wth a Streamlight to the noggin. His buddies kind of melted away. ;)

I have only experienced truly being "surrounded" by hostiles once. They have tried plenty of times but it is best to defeat it before it gets to that point by tactical deployment.
We treated it like an ambush and as soon as agreed upon which breakout path we were taking, sprayed all those in front of us with OC and charged forward with a few flashlights and expandables swinging and some choice war yells until we could get to a position of advantage until the cavalry got there.
My good friend, Hound, should remember that one! (At least I think we was with us, 1st & Florence?)This career is not a sprint, it is a marathon.
