I want to make a successful anonymous tip

My roommate is a "street level" marijuana dealer operating out of our apartment. This has been going on for too long(almost 2 years) and I would like to have my roommate arrested for this illegal activity that brings shady characters into the apartment every day.

Is it possible to call in a tip to the police and have them actually follow through with a search? I feel like just calling the police would not be enough for them to come and search the apartment for the illegal drugs, baggies, and scales--especially since I would like to remain anonymous throughout the ordeal.

An anonymous tip is not enough to get a search warrant.

Why not 6 months ago? Why not a year ago? Why not 18 months ago? Now, at damn near the 2 year mark, you've had enough and want to dime him out to us in law enforcement. Naw, something else is amiss here. There's more to this story than what you're telling us.

What happened, he beat your @ss for dipping into his stash? Did he do your girl? Did he not pay you back the money he owed?

Either give full disclousure or take a walk kid.
