    Some Advice Please

I am in a youth group and my youth pastor said that he would like to make our group the most welcoming in our county. I started to think about this the other night and came up with an idea. But I don't know if it is something that should be done. I thought about all of the children and youth my age in youth detention centers and other places like that. I though what if (and it could just be us seniors) instead of waiting for everyone to come to us, we went to them. Would it be a good idea for a youth group from a church go into a youth detention center and reach out to troubled youth and yes criminals and show them that there is no condemnation for those who live in Christ Jesus? (Im sorry if this is offensive to anyone..... I just want to get an officers point of view since you are the ones who arrest them)

    Thank you for your time.

One of the drummers I've played with is a convicted felon who turned his life around from this very ministry...and he continued it after he was saved by visiting the jails and prisons. Other meaningful ministries could be volunteering for roadside trash pickup, visiting homosexuals dying from AIDS, and befriending seniors in assisted living centers.

Go for it. You never know when a person will answer the call that was there all along. Most times, they just need someone who actually cares for them as a person.
