Hey, im an 18 year old in the state of IL, my brother is growing pot, possibly manufacturing another drug, selling the drugs, we are located less than 4 blocks away from an elementary school, and his friends come over and do drugs in the garage, and he is not attending school, he's 16 years old, ive tried to talk to my mother about it but she wont do anything about it. something needs to be done because its tearing whats left of my family apart.

Your question is more in line with Social Services rather than law enforcement. (unless you are looking to get your brother arrested, or mom, or both). Do you have a school counselor or a trusted adult to talk to about this?

i tried calling social services and they told me to contact the police, i dont want to call the police unless i know something can be done, because if nothing happens, him and his little posse of thugs will try and destroy everything i have

how should i go about it? Should i wait until his friends are over to do it? should i do it when he goes out there alone? im honestly clueless on how to go about this.

Home, gone - doesn't matter. When you call, your local police will advise you of what they want you to do and when, as well as their timetable.

If i were you I would go to your local PD or Sheriff's office and tell them you want to talk to a narcotics detective. Don't call 911, that is for emergencies in progress.
