what's going to happen to me?

hey guys, i live in georgia and this past weekend my buddy called me and asked me to pick him up from this house. well when i got there he had a couple bags of stuff and asked me to take him to the pawn shop. im not sure whos house this was but he wasnt saying much and he looked pretty nervous. well about 5 minutes later there was cops following us and i pulled over at this gas station and my friend ran out of the car and left the bags of stuff in my car. the cops asked me to get out and searched my car and got all of the bags out while the other cops tried to chase my friend down but he was gone so they asked me his information and i lied and gave them a fake description so they wouldnt find my friend i know it was stupid and i just told them he asked me to pick him up and i didnt steal anything and i guess someone saw what happened and thats why the cops followed us. so if they find out i lied what will happen to me and what will the charge be called? i have a good record except for a misd. pot charge. thanks in advance for any info.

Have a job, girlfriend , college student ?

You will need to put all of these or any of these on hold while you go through the process of being arrested, name in the papers, court proceedings and finally a trial followed by the extreme liklihood of a vacation at the graybar hotel.

PS, your court appointed attorney will be able to get you a deal if
you give them your buddies name and agree to testify.
