In Florida, I would have charged you with Escape and you could ride the felony charge on that one.

When I put someone in handcuffs, they stay on until. I decide they come off, for MY SAFETY. I am not out here to play games with you, or for you to entertain yourself with you taking off your handcuffs and causing me undo alarm and distress.

you really have taken it on the chin and can wisecrack about it...that's a good sign. I do think you must have led a sheltered life not to realize how serious we take the "slipping the cuffs" deal; But, lesson learned. Good luck to you. So, I went to see an attorney today. After I briefly told him what happened, he just stared at me with his mouth wide open, and eyeballs popping out of his head, and then said: "This is by far the dumbest thing any of my clients has ever done, and for the silliest reason!" Jerk.

Then we talked a little more, and he got a bit more encouraging. He may be able to get a plea deal without the resisting charge. We'll see... I really don't think this has sunk in yet because I still see the humor in all of it.

As for my future plans, I'll first do time in a maximum security prison (now that they're aware of my "special talents"...). After that, I'll work in advertising for a year or two, and then hoprefully go back to school to get my MBA. And of course, moonlight as jailbait or stripper, and pick up a few Darwin Awards along the way.

The bastard whole-heartedly agreed with you guys! I think I need a different attorney...

When I told him about this forum, he just kept asking "Have you admitted to anything? Do they know who you are?" Yeah, I'll go to court one day, and all you guys will show up to testify against me. That's probably the whole purpose of this forum......I'm on to you! ;)

Seriously, I think I'll just take what I learned here, and tell the judge how I have come to realize that from an officer's point of view, taking my hand-cuffs off really wasn't a good thing. That, and maybe an apology and a gift certificate to Dunkin Donuts for the officer involved.

After he said "This is by far the dumbest..." That right there, you should of said thank you for your time, but if my actions are the dumbest thing you've seen, then you are not very experienced and I need someone more qualified for this job position than you.

Someone slipping out of handcuffs just to see if they could… Yes, is incredibly stupid but not the dumbest thing I've seen a person do.

If the first part wasn’t clue enough, the fact that he actually thinks you would give your location/name and admit to only you know what else… Well, maybe this guy doesn’t have common sense one and expects you to be as ill equipped as he is. Then again, I could be giving you too much credit... Which brings me right back around to the whole idea of slipping out of a pair of handcuffs because it might be fun. With that I figured you lacked the common sense god gave to sun-dried Twinkies. Yet through the thread you have managed to moderately redeem yourself…just try not to get the boys too fired up over the thoughts of gymnast. The odor of badge bunny can be foul enough on here and I seriously doubt you want to be lumped in with that heap of trash.

Maybe you can impress the judge by doing a couple of backflips off of his desk.

Seriously, go in and ask for some community service. Tell him you've talked to some Officers and you realized how dumb your actions were. The other thing you can do is call the Prosecutor, tell them you made a dumb mistake and you want to know what you're facing. Before you blow a bunch of money on an attorney, they may offer you the same deal.

Are you trying to tell me that it was a dumb idea to give Taz my name, address, and turn-by-turn directions to my house? I could still move before he gets here...

Thank you for the warning. I had to look up that term. Umm... I don't think I could handle the constant lectures and criticism about everything I did wrong in the bedroom. :p Besides, I've already made it abundantly clear that I have a strong aversion to hand cuffs. ;)

Small people, especially females, sometimes make it difficult to cuff due to the size of the wrists.

Um, well, you may want to think things over before you put them in writing. Judging by some of the posts I'm pretty sure there would be some volunteers.
