do you know what states its legal to hitchhike in? whats the penalty if you hitchhike in a state where its illegal? does it make a difference if youre an adult or minor? thanx

What state do you want to know about? There's no state law against it (last I checked) in Oregon, but some local governments like Portland have city ordinances against it. It's a traffic violation and a fine. Age isn't necessarily a factor.

i know its kind of risky but my girlfriend and i want to get married in utah and we dont have the money to get there. i intend to bring pepperspray and maybe a knife.

because in utah minors (or a minor and an adult) can get married without their parents consent. not the case in pa

Going across state lines with a minor like that, to avoid state law, just rings some bad bells.

Neither of you has any money, she is sixteen, and you obviously have no parental support going.

in Al. you're asking for a felony charge if you have sex with her. BTW, that's a real good way to start life together. You cannot even afford a bus trip to Utah, tell us how you intend to support your wife and child...

i said she was my girlfriend, not my sex partner, and theres no child on the way. we want to get married so we can change that ;)

If there's no sex involved, that means there's little chance she's pregnant.

So what's the rush?

If you care about her that much, you'd do it right. You wouldn't run away to some far off location. You would wait until you are financially stable and can provide for her, and then get married. Time to man up.

the "rush" is that we [B]want[B] to have sex and i dont want to get busted for statutory rape. if we get married we can have all the sex we want. im not going to last much longer. if you saw her youd understand.
