Can any cops tell me what i should do?

Soo.. its a bummer i have to wait to try to join.. im 19 and need to 21 of course... i was gonna try to be a corrections officer first.. figure it owuld help with being a real LEO. then found out gotta be 21 for that too.. so even though i HATE school and dont want to go im thinking of going to a community college and maybe try for a associates degree is Criminal justice.
Im also in the Army reserves.. so im hoping that my Army experience and a associates degree will be enough to get accepted.. i one day hope to go S.W.A.T or US Marshal.

Should i go for my associates degree in Criminal justice? or should i do something different.. i keep hearing that Criminal Justice is a usless dagree.

There is no such thing as a useless degree in Law Enforcement.

In LE, a degree is a checkmark. If the school is accredited, then study whatever you are interested in enough to finish with the best possible grades.

If you want to succeed in this (or any) field, don't look at things as "I'm hoping this will be enough to scrape by." You want to make yourself the best person for the position they have ever seen.

College, LE Experience, Military, foreign language, general life experience can each be enough on their own to squeak you by in some cases. Having two (or more) can only boost you higher.

Instead of looking for the quick way through, take your time and make yourself the best candidate in the pool for every job you apply for.

People judge you on how you communicate. You communicate like a middle school kid, therefore you get treated like a middle school kid. And your level of immaturity is the primary point you got and still getting across. I'd look for a future in some other field, perhaps a landfill.

I would like to add a few more things for you, though:
1) It's OUR house and you are still a newjack. Mind your P's and Q's.
2) The "time when it counts" will likley never come for you for th U.S. Marshals with this kind of outlook on just getting by... and for most other agencies, it will likely come and go before you realize it.
3) Finally, it's not flaming when a MODERATOR makes a few subtle suggestions. Again, it's OUR house. Leave if you do not like it.

Your first impression is that you ARE too lazy to coherently phrase and grammatically structure your thoughts. Your first impression is the one that counts, here on the boards AND in real life. You want to join us...you NEVER know when any of us might be on the hiring board for the agency YOU want to get on with.

You don't care to put forth your best HERE, where EVERYONE, LEO's and the public, can read everything you type, but yet you expect everyone out in the real world to believe that everything you do is top notch.

If you don't have the time or inclination to do it right the first time, why do it at all?

You indicated that you are thinking about a stint in corrections first. That is an excellent idea. I personally believe that one month in a county jail should be an integral part of all FTO programs, period. You will gain invaluable experience and insight that those who have never done it will never have. It's a huge benefit and I would highly recommend it.

I would not go to corrections. Alot of people do that to try and get a foot in but end up getting stuck their under false promises. Plus unless you want to babysit I wouldnt do it.

I got hired when I was 19 yoa and have been a leo for a couple years now so just got to look around and check diff departments.
