Self Defence Fixed Blade Legal In Texas???

I want to know is it legal in the state of Texas to carry a single edge Fixed blade knife. Under 5 1/2 in of course. I'm talking about in a sheath in my boot or a shoulder strap behind my jacket. For self defense purposes only. And does age really even matter?

Only a complete loon would carry a knife for "defensive purposes".

Ask anyone who has ever been in a knife fight.

Buy a can of pepper spray if you are that concerned. Works better, you won't bleed as much or go to jail for "Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon" charges and it avoids all those "shot while holding a knife" situations.

Yes it's legal, mostly useless in a real "defensive" situation, but thats up to you. As was said, O/C spray would be better.

With that said, age does matter. It's illegal for anyone under 18 to carry a knife over 3" in my city. Some other cities have knife ordinances also.

I really don't understand some of these questions.

"Can I carry a Chinese Broadsword, with the rings in the blade, in Tuscaloosa Alabama, if it's carried at a 45 degree angle across my back with the blade facing up? It's only for self defense. Oh yeah, and I'm 23, but I turn 24 on February 15th, and I'm a middle child if that matters."

I mean, seriously, what do you do on a daily basis, and who do you hang out with that you feel the need to carry a knife to defend yourself with? Growing up, I never felt the need to carry knives or other weapons to defend myself. C'mon people.
