How hard is it really to be a police officer nowadays?

Is there a lot more crime, then there use to be? And just how hard is it for someone to become a police officer in california? thanks

    1) Yes

    2) Difficult

    Your Welcome.

    Listen Fallen,

I have read some of your post. You seem like a decent kid, but for seventeen you need to gain some maturity. Anything you want in life you have to go after. It won't be easy and you will have to work for it and devote yourself to it. There will be situations in life that are not fair and not to your desire, but character and morals is what will see you through them.
If you want to be an officer, work hard, get an education, stay out of trouble, keep your eye on your goals, and never compromise your character.
Excuse me Officer, I have a stupid Question. "No problem, I've got a stupid answer for you!"

Nationally most crime is down believe it or not. The difficulty has everything to do with your personal choices in life leading up to your application and your abilities to handle many different situations. Seems you are still under 18and are no sooner able to tell us what you want for lunch today, never mind a career that wont even start for another 5 to 10 years from now.

As I said in another recent post, be a good citizen, pay your taxes, obey the traffic code and your chances are as good as any other normal person who takes pride in doing the right thing in life.
