i don't have a drivers liscense, but when i apply to the nypd (2 years) i will get one by then, question is does it matter if you get a liscense around the time you apply or do you need to have one for a few years? i won't get one now because my parents insurance will go up, and honestly i don't need to drive the car. As long as you have a NYS DL when you're hired, BUT if you get it just before, plan on failing driver's training.
