    Question Need recommedation on Binoculars...

Hey, I looking to buy some autofocus binos. Must be autofocus, dont need that adjusting BS, I need something I can come up on quick if I need to from patrol vehicle.

If anyone can recommend, in addition to what range/size you think is best from within a patrol car, would be appreciated.....thanks!

Why would you want autofocus? Do you have experience with them? They can really be a headache when there are other things in your field of view. Manual focus lets YOU determine what specific item is important for you to focus on, ID, etc.

I have little knowledge of binoculars...however, I believe there is true "autofocus" (like the typical SLR camera) then there is something called "infinite focus".

I believe Steiners are of the infinite focus variety. I had never seen Steiners before but ran into a vendor at a gunshow. I was used to the normal binoculars that you focus with the little wheel. I noticed that the Steiners didn't have the wheel. When I actually looked through them I noticed that everything in view was in focus.

They seemed like excellent binos for my use, but I was still a bit too cheap to shell out a couple hundred bucks for them. I'm sure there is some tradeoff that an optics nut could speak to, but I didn't see any problems using them. They couldn't give me a worse headache than the $12 Walgreens binos that I use now.
