First offence, battery.

Ok, I have a probation hearing on december 9th for battery, I have no crimanal background, this is my first offence. I am woundering what the punishment(s) could be. I can tell you the whole story, if needed. I live in the state of Indiana.

Whole story PLUS the exact charge and level of charge.

Such as Assault and Battery , Misdemeanor of the 1st degree. etc. I am not from Indiana but there is someone on this site that is.

Well, I'll make a long story short, me and my grandpa broke out into a verbal argument, cussing and whatnot, when finally he punched me in the mouth. I retalieated, by punching him back, he started pulling my hair (it's about 8 inches long), the only way I could get him off my was by tackling him to the ground. Yet he still wouldn't let go of me. There was alot of yelling going on at this time, so my uncle who was staying with us, came and broke the fight up. My grandpa called the cops, and I jetted out the window, to later return to my moms van, to get out of there. The cop added me to the runnaway list, I had to go to the police department to clear my name from the list. I "technacally" got arrested that night, but released to my mom, and her boyfriend.

As for the charge, all I know is i'm being charged for battery, I just found out about the court date today.

Without knowing all of the details ...it sounds like you BOTH should have been charged. If you two cannot get along, then dont be in a position where you have to.

You are very likley looking at probation for a year or so , court costs and perhaps community service. And the next time, DON'T RUN. It MAKES you look GUILTY , even if you aren't.

We moved since then, the event happend 3 or 4 weeks ago. As for me running, I had a gut feeling that something bad woulda happend. After returning, my mom said the cop who came was gonna take me in, and commit me.

And is probation it? No jail time?

Also, what could happen if I were to show up and not be able to pass a drug test?

Between the username and the fact he couldn't walk away from a fight with Grandpa tells me that we're dealing with a mental giant.

Hopefully they'll get a DV conviction so we don't have to every worry about him carrying a firearm.
