    Question about a stop.

Hey guys, I was doing a ride-along the other day when we made a stop. It was about 4 in the morning and this guy was walking in the middle of the street. After the usual protocol you guys have to follow, the officer ran his license through the system and it came back suspended. The officer concidered the facts that the guy was very cooperative and was not driving to decide to let him go. My question is, although he was not driving, can he still be cited or how does it work?

*I forgot to ask the officer at the moment and now I'm curious about it. Thanks for your comments.

If he had his actual drivers license on him , it is a violation to possess a suspended license. I would have seized it and cited him for it. He can go get a state ID card in lieu of a license.

Or, depending on the state he was in, the guy could have been cited for walking in the middle of the street.
