Hey everybody real fast i would just like say this is an awesome forum, and thanks to all you police officers that help us out. with that said lets move on.
I am currently 17 years of age and live in Utah, i will have my Associates Degree finished in may of this year (2008/2009) My associates is in "Criminal Justice". I plan on continuing my education and going to Utah Valley University (UVU). There i plan on getting my Bachelor degree in "Forensic Science". once i am done with this i want to apply to some type of law enforcement agency. I have been thinking about the following:
1) ATF (Special Agent)
2) DEA
3) boarder patroll
What other agencies out there would be good to apply to with an associates in criminal justice and a Bachelors in Forensic science?
A little about my Background.
I have never once touched any kind of drug, or alcohol. I have so far had no speeding tickets or vehicle tickets of any kinds. i Have However been in trouble twice with the police.
1) The first time i was 14 years of age. on the 24 of July the cops caught me and some buddies out past curfew lighting fireworks. The police man was very nice with us. A week later i got a ticket in the mail saying i was fined 50$ for being out past curfew and had (X)amount of time to pay or else go to court. We went and talked to the county judge and no charges were pressed and everything was thrown out because we were on my grandfathers property, therefor we were not out past curfew.
2) The second time i was 16 years of age one of my old friends had a ran down jeep on some "BLM Land" and he said we could go site our rifles in on it.. Little did i know the kid had a grudge with me and called the cops the second i fired my rifle. the cops talked to both of us and our parents and said that they would leave it as a civil matter. I payed the kid 250$ and never heard anything else.
Are my chances pretty good? will my "Mess Ups" ruin anything for me?
also if any of you guys no anything about other "Agencies" that would be good to look into please mention them.
Thanks a lot everybody.
