Driving Record in Ref NYPD Qual

Taking the test this week, really hoping to get in Academy in Jan 09. And a question came to my mind regarding few traffic violations and want to know HOW will it affect my hiring/qualification process, so here it goes

spring 2000 got my DL in 29Plams CA,20yo

Jan 2002 was involved in car accident(hit an run, Had CA DL) car was totaled, passengers did a insurance claim and NY DVM record shows accident with personal injuriy

    NY DL

    09/2002 speeding 42/25 60 fine/4 points
    02/2003 disob traffic dev 40 fine/2 points
    11/2003 disob traffic dev 40 fine/2 points

    GA DL

sometime 2006 got ticket for speeding in NC, hired a lawyer and was droped to deffective equipment payed fine like 150, thats all.

and now I have still open ticket that I got in mid 2006 (disob traffic dev), hired a lawyer and he keeps on resched hearing. So what should i do about this one, do I need to close it, go to court and just plead guilty, or keep on fighting.

I am not the best driver, and I did learn my lessons the hard way, but you guys got to admit NY got some F****up drivers.

Also would it help if I get a letter from previos employer that I drove GOV for 3 years on a daily basis with no incidents and violations.

    Test question:

Two candidates have passed the written, physical agility and oral board with identical scores. Both have similar degrees from the same school.

Candidate "A" has a spotless driving record.

    Candidate "B" is you.

    Which one gets hired?

You cannot be hired with ANY pending court situations (criminal cases, civil cases, or traffic tickets). Until that case gets taken care of, you can't be hired.

I mean, we're getting killed for these people and they don't even appreciate it. They think it's a big joke.

    Interesting Info
