So my friends and I had to do a social service project down in the hood for a school project. It took 2 weeks to complete and during that 2 weeks we were stopped by the police at least 7 times. They had no reason to stop us except for the fact that we were white in an all black area. Is that a legit reason to stop somebody?

High crime area.. You could have been stopped for any number of reasons. I'm positive however you weren't stopped for no reason. Despite what the media tries to put out, cops don't stop people for "no reason".

Cops are not paid to ignore things that look out of place, they're paid to snoop around and find things that look suspicious. That's generally where you find criminal activity. If you and your friends were doing nothing wrong, don't take it personally. If you return to a high crime area, expect it to happen again.

I swear the locals in this area are paraniod. Whenever they hear a car coming behind them they turn around and see who it is. When they saw it was a bunch of white kids they started yelling at us. Heres a pic I snapped of one instance.
