So about five years ago, back when GA had money:rolleyes:, the GBI did a survey and found that 1 in 10 adults in GA had a CCW.

Out of those 1 in 10, 50% of those carried every day.

So if your typical Atlanta Cop stopped and frisked 10 random people on the street, half of them would be legally armed.

I'm courious as to how the Officers in our less gun friendly States feel about this.

I'm more curious about your math skills at this early hour.

1 in 10 has a permit. Only half carry .5 in 10 or 1 in 20. He'd have to stop and frisk 20 to statistically get one carrier, not get 5 in 10 ;)

I seriously doubt that one in 20 people in Atlanta carry. This is especially true with the type of people who we're likely to frisk on any given day. Most CCW holders aren't going to get themselves into situations involving being frisked by the police, and I'd also imagine based on some research I've read involving CCW that the average rate of CCW holders in an urban area like Atlanta is going to be less than the rate of CCW holders in more rural areas of the state. Additionally, not everyone who has a CCW is going to carry all the time.

Regardless of the amount of legal CCW permits issued, I'm always going to get a bit on edge when someone I frisk has a weapon. The reason for that is because that person was doing something suspicious in order for me to frisk them to begin with.

The people we frisk on a daily basis are not going to be CHL holders.

Crack pipe holders, well that'll probably hit 100%. :p

The only regular contact I have with CHL holders is when they leave their gun in a mall bathroom or dept store change room. (Twice a week at least) :rolleyes:

No joke, I had one that called us because he'd "Misplaced" his Glock. He claimed to have only been in the mall for about 2 hours and he dragged us thru FIVE bathrooms. Never found the Glock.
