Hi and thank you to whoever responds!
I have a written exam for a Detention Technician position I applied for. The letter said it will take 2 hours. Can anyone give me an idea what kinds of questions I'll be asked? Now I'm nervous... will I feel like I'm back in a classroom? ( I'm 40) :D Is there a particular site I can study from? I tried to look for some info on th internet, but didint get very far. Does that particular test have a name?
Thank you. I reallly hope I get it. I've always been intrigued with criminal justice. Guess its never too late to start a carrer change!

Civil service tests are set up in 1 of 3 ways.
Reading comprehension/memory from a photo.
Psych/life values.
Knowledge of the job being tested for.
Most likely its of the 1st or 2nd variety, unless they gave you advanced knowledge of the material on the test, or if its a promotional exam.DONLON
I mean, we're getting killed for these people and they don't even appreciate it. They think it's a big joke.

Sounds like Californian lingo for Correctional Officer. i.e. garbage man = waste management technician, or housewife = domestic engineer.
