    Knife laws

I live in Texas, and I was wondering if it is legal to carry a 4" fixed blade knife on my belt. I have always perfered fixed blades to folding, and I just wanted to make sure that it was legal for me to carry.

There are only a few officers here from Texas and there is no telling if they will even pop by in this thread. So..google texas illegal knife and your municipal code if you dont want to wait.

I have read it and it is unclear on the matter. That is why I posted here. And as far as the "silver spoon" comment goes, That is a very childish statment, I only ask for a simple answer. Thank you.

Less than one minute of research on Google (following the advice given to you by the other members) led me here.

Under Chapter 46 (Weapons Offenses) an "Illegal Knife" is defined (in part) as one with a blade length over 5 1/2 inches long.

So in the state of Texas, it's not illegal.

Note, though, that I don't know what city you are in, so I couldn't do the rest of your research for you.

    You're welcome.
