We'll forgive you for not being a Brit.
Would you otherwise pretend that you were so the rest of that statement would be fulfilled ?

Nope. My teeth are too clean to be British... so it just wouldn't work out. Sorry.
Damn... I actually have a valid question I wanted to ask too. Hm... I'll create a new account when I think of it.

If it walks like a duck...and quacks like a duck....then it ain't nothing but a duck
How eery that your "friend's friend" had that experience. Ofcourse, he was out late ( probably taking his library books back )...took a wrong turn down a street ( maybe the all night residential pharmacy for some aspirin for sick grandma )...and when he saw the officer turned away quickly ( of couse, not wanting to startle the busy officer he turned quickly around because he left his bible at the library and can't go to bed w/o his nightly prayers ) ...Did it happen something like that????
We officer's never want to infringe on your everloving civil rights...Now do we???
Little Johnny - just go back to your choir practice and we won't stop you again at 2am in the crack neighborhood.....
LMAO
No offense intended, but if I told you that something happened to my oldest daughter's step-father's best friend, do you think that the description I used somehow proves that the person in question was NOT my friend?Originally posted by txinvestigator1
So now it is not "your" friend, but your friends friend. Damn, I hate it when I am right.
No, it wouldn't. Which means your ***umption isn't fair.
And, yes, my oldest daughter's step-father's best friend *is* a friend of mine.
So then your argument is to try and confuse the reader instead of saying that the subject is your friend???
Sure, that makes sense.
The whole point is when these stories get created and people have no direct link to the people involved, the junk seems to infiltrate the truth.
It wasn't MY argument, nor was I involved (at all) in the discussion itself.Originally posted by rdp

I was simply making a point about subjective assumptions (in general).
