Had my first oral board today...

I had my first ever oral board today. I passed it with flying colors
But did they beat me down lol. It was not easy sitting there and being talked down to. But, I kept my composure and stuck to all my answers.

What's funny is I went in there with an idea of how it would be and knowing that they would try to see how easily I got angry and what not. But it was still rough!

They jumped down my throat about my family having money, lack of work history when I was a full tme student, any failing grades I've recieved, etc.

But, like I said I passed, and did quite well they told me.

So did anyone else feel worn down after their boards? Or anything else someone wants to add?

Sure. A lot of them are designed to do that. I've gone through... geez... at least 7 panel interviews/oral boards, and each one was different. When they test your ability to keep your cool, they're trying to see how you'll react when you're on a call and the person you're there to "help" is screaming at you and calling you every curse word you've ever heard - and some you haven't.

Good job, keep up the pace.

What caught me off guard was it semed like the whole thing was about trying to make me mad lol. The most memorable being when one of them said "You know during your probationary period no one's going to give a s#!t about your opinion?" My answer was "That'll just be more motivation to prove myself to ya'll."

Makes me wonder if anyone has ever just said mid-interview enough of this and walked out flippin the bird.
