    goldbuy.com or buygold.com

I have been seeing recently these commercials on tv talking about trading in your old gold jewelry to these companys who would melt it down and send you cash for it. My question is do these companies have safeguards against receiving stolen merchandise? I mean judging from the commercials it seems that all you do is send them jewelry, then they send you cash. It looks like an unregulated pawnshop

    Safeguards?

    Hahahahahaha!

They don't care if it's stolen. They're melting it down.

    Very good question though.

That is what I thought too. It has to suck if you get your jewelry stolen and now there is no way to trace it back to you because it is now molten. Just seems like an easy way for crooks to take advantage send the jewelry out of town and have no way to be connected to it. Hopefully something is in place.

I would guess a large percentage of what they get is probably stolen, because when you sell jewelry just for the gold content, you are usually selling it for less than it is really worth.
