Two questions

I have two questions to pose to you guys, obviously I will disclose these events, but I just want to know what kind of effect they will have on me and the like. Also considering these events will be around five years old or so by the time I even begin processing, possibly even longer depending on how things go. They are currently about three years old or so (don't remember exactly when they happened).

First was, a "friend" had asked me to take her to the grocery store and to her parents house, which was on the way to the grocery store. She and I had no issues in the past, she was in college like I was, a bit older, but not a real bad influence or anything. We never really hung out, but she didn't have a car, I did and she paid me for gas, and I was bored, so I said sure. We went to her parents house, she said I could come in, so I said sure. I walk in the door and I immediately smell the nastiest smell ever - of marijuana. I turned around and left. I had almost left her there as well, I had never been informed they were druggies and had I known this, I would not have taken her anywhere near there, period. But I also kind of realize you can't pick your family unfortunately. Needless to say, I have severed ties with her since she exposed me to that. I was a bit naive and didn't call the cops because I was 18-19 at the time, had no clue where I was and didn't really think they'd take me seriously since I didn't see anything, I just smelled it and left.

Second, I had gone out with someone once, they never did anything illegal around me, we just kind of hung out and played video games/talked. Later on, about a week, I found out that said individual is a sex offender (gag) and I severed ties with them as well, despite the fact that they kept calling me constantly and the like.

I wouldn't worry about it. You are one of the few people who have posted on this site who seem to have engaged their brain and done the appropriate thing. If you had told me you hung out and your friends house and smoked a doob, and then drove your sex offender friend around to children's playgrounds for some "fresh air" then my response would be different.

Just let your BI know that you have a concern about it- otherwise when you get to the polygraph you may be all tense and screw up on that portion- forcing you to then explain why you didn't disclose the information in the first place.

But remember the most important piece of information: All your base are belong to us!

I do attempt to use my brain from time to time, otherwise, I'll be outside inventing creative ideas of doing random things, like how to blow up soda bottles (yeah yeah, I know, rofl).

I have never done drugs, I have never smoked (cigarettes) and I have never drank past a teaspoon full given to me by my dad when I was 15ish, and I will never... Ugh, booze tastes horrid, sorry guys. In fact, the army guys thought I was full of crap when I said that cause where I am from, basically everyone is a stoner or a drunk.

I had to leave that house before I puked and kicked the crap out of her for doing that, I was in my car all mad, heh.

Will do! Thanks. I know people have asked on here about parents with backgrounds and stuff. But what about parents who just treat you like crap constantly and would love a chance to sabotage you? My dad specifically acts less than... good to be honest.

I have been referred to as basically an "inconsiderate <expletive>" numerous times for basically no reason. Including once right after surgery when I had gotten no sleep for 48 hours because my foot swelled up to twice it's size (splint problems) and was less than thrilled they had brought my two little cousins (4 and 6) over, and I could get no sleep and wanted them gone. I was threatened then as well.

I talk to my older brother about it constantly, we both out mature our father, who is the abusive one. If I ask him for any form of an explanation on why something is done a certain why instead of the way I see it being done, I get yelled at and sworn at. In fact, I told him to leave the racecar shop and go inside because he went postal because the way I had taken off the fuel filter was the not the way he would do it and putting it on was taking some time. I hide out on the internet to avoid my parents, thank the lord for World of Warcraft, haha.

I've been threatened with being disowned if I become a cop, but my dad is now treating me as some dumb retirement fund without a brain and he doesn't realize that once I graduate, my ties with them are gone, period.

I guess I don't know how to approach it on a BI even though my brother will verify it for me as well. Trying to not drag out my problems, but just explain it like I would to them and trying to get feedback on how to deal with a really really horrible parent.

The only thing you can do is press on. If you fail to apply because your afraid of what your parents are going to do then you'll get nowhere. You might have to wait a few years after moving out of your parents house and breaking contact with them. This would give them no current information about you. Rest assured your BI will see through the BS.

My mother refused to return a questionnaire for one police department I had applied at and the agency would not process my BI while waiting for the questionnaire. I grew tired of waiting and went back into the military. My mother was angry when she was told the only reason I went back into the military was because the police department refused to process my BI while waiting for her questionnaire. She was advised of this fact when she complained to my wife about me being deployed to the middle east and being in a dangerous place.
