Is it hard to become a COP?

I'm looking into applying for a job.... as a police officer.
It says that you must have 60 semester hours of college or university classes? I don't... I graduated, and have been at the same job for almost 2 years. I want a job I love, and... I don't make near enough money for what I do.


Is it still possible for me to apply and they actually give me the time of day even if I don't have College Education???

If you don't meet the department's minimal requirements for which you are applying to, no, they won't give you "the time of day." Don't waste your time if you don't meet them. Continue your education if you have to. Good luck.

Why would they? Minimum requirements are minimum requirements--it doesn't matter what job you're applying for. Why do you feel that you're more special than everyone else and an agency should bend over backwards to waive their hiring standards to give you a job???

If it was easy to become a cop ( or if they chose not to require what they said they would require ) , then everyone would be a cop.

Some depts require college, some don't. Look around. Just about all depts have web sites that give minimum requirements.

If you think that's going to change if/when you become an LEO, you may be in for a rude awakening... IMO...
