You will be much better off interviewing an officer in person.

Head to your local police station and sit down with an officer and ask; you'll be surprised what you learn.

    From the Fed side:

    1. How did you become interested in law enforcement? I could not get into Truck driving school. Seriously, I met and worked with some great Special Agents while in the military and decided it was for me.
    2. What’s your educational background? Masters
    3. What other jobs did you have before you became an officer? Military. I bagged groceries when I was a kid. I was fired from Little Caesars for not having the right "little Caesars Attitude"...no ****.
    4. What’s your current:
    • job description: Criminal investigator (1811)
    • responsibilities: Criminal investigations of complex federal crimes
    • time on job: One form of another, since 1998
    5. How do you think politics influences your job? The media influences the average person into thinking things that simply are not true, because they have half the story. The media influences politicians to introduce stupid or bad legislation.
    6. What do you think needs to change in your field? Political correctness
    7. What keeps you motivated? Guinness...I have a cabin in the mountains.
    8. Do you enjoy your job? Sometimes
    9. Describe 3 memorable experiences on the job? Too many to post and too many that might end up as a Giglio issue!
    10. One instances where you used your discretion? We don't have much discretion on the investigations side. Once it lands on our desk, the train has left the station to a certain degree.
    11. What advise would you give to a person entering your career? Get a degree and military/local service before coming into the feds. Fight the battles you can win. Learn to write. Learn to think for yourself.
    12. Most difficult part of the job? It has been time away from family. In the first 4 years of Marriage we have been together 2 of it.
    13. Best/ most rewarding part of your job? Every two weeks I get paid pretty darned well.

    1. I needed a job, I hated selling cars. The only thing I was qualified for (other than manual labor) was being a cop or a fireman. I hate ladders, seriously.
    2. Had one year of college when I started, now have a masters.
3 Farm hand, gas station attendant, soldier, salesman.
    4 Retired.
5.Not much. My job was to enforce the law, not write it. At the end of the day, politicians had little influence on how my job went. Interoffice politics are a pain, but I did my best to avoid that.
    6. More pay, better benefits, better equipment, less interference from local committees and groups.
    7. When I worked, I tried to spend as much time doing things for people as doing things to them.
    8. Yes, or I would have quit in a heartbeat.
    9. The day I was hired, the day I was promoted, the day I called the chief a sniveling sodomizer of men (I'm paraphrasing here) and retired.
    10. An old lady who went through a red light.
    11. Get another job working with the public first.
    12. Holding dead babies
13 Arresting the sumbitch that killed the baby and knowing he'll be the recipient of lotsa prison sex.

Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

What does this mean, Madiha? Did others just do your homework assignment for you?

    That's exactly what it means.

Does that matter? No, not to Madiha it doesn't.

...which speaks volumes about her(?) ethics.
