    Vehicle questions

Hello. I have some questions about vehicles. Firstly, are Golf Carts legal to drive on small roads? second, Do any police forces allow antique cars (1950s, 60s) as patrol cars? third,(not really related) what would I have to do to be a Neighborhood Watch? Also (Not related but was wondering), My 56 year old dad was beaten up on Christmas Night of 2006, Medical Bills totaling around $8,000. Knocked him out 3 times (supposedly a felony), but all the 2 men got was a 60 day jail sentence, which was suspended and replaced with requirement to pay us $8,000 (which they havent even started to yet). Also a Police Juror pulled a trailer house across our property, it caused no damage besides a Dewberry vine. Also, an Entergy truck backed across our wet yard and busted a water line, to install a pole light on the police juror's property. I could use some advice on all this. thank you.

Is a Golf Cart a vehicle? What is your definition of a Golf Cart and what is the definition of a vehicle in your local vehicle/transportation code? What do you consider a "small road"? Would the Golf Cart be driving with or against the "grain" of the road? Is the small road paved? Asphalt or concrete? Is this a trick question where the small road is actually on a golf course or country club property?

second, Do any police forces allow antique cars (1950s, 60s) as patrol cars?

Yes, but you have to be a certified senior citizen police officer to drive one. Also, you can not arrest or transport anyone under the age of 55 in an antique patrol car.

third,(not really related) what would I have to do to be a Neighborhood Watch?

Do you own comfortable walking shoes? Do you have any physical limitations with regards to walking around your neighborhood? Do you own a hand bell? http://www.bell-outlet.com/bhandbell.htm How is your voice? Can you yell loudly and clearly? Try enunciating "3 o'clock and all's well!" Now try ringing the bell before and after announcing the time. You might have to get a permit from your local city hall... Be forewarned, some neighbors don't really appreciate the 2am-6am announcements....

Maybe it's just me but is there a question in there somewhere?

Also a Police Juror pulled a trailer house across our property, it caused no damage besides a Dewberry vine.

Maybe it's just me but is there a question in there somewhere? WTH is a "police juror"? Was it a lowland dewberry vine or a mountain dewberry vine? Was it bearing fruit at the time or was it off season?

Also, an Entergy truck backed across our wet yard and busted a water line, to install a pole light on the police juror's property.

Maybe it's just me but is there a question in there somewhere? Why was your yard wet? Was it day or night? Were you watering your yard or was the wetness from rain? Do you have automatic sprinklers? Do you live in a zone where they are conserving water? How much is your water bill, monthly average? What's a pole light? Is it related to a pole lock? How long is the pole? Is it a 10 foot pole? Was it possible to touch the Entergy truck with a 10 foot pole light? Is the police juror's property adjacent to yours? Do you share a driveway? Do you live in a police juror neighborhood? How many police juror's live around you? Are they allowed to get newspapers or watch the news? Do any of them have satellite TV?

I could use some advice on all this. thank you.
I could use some ibuprofen on all this.

Golf Carts are those little tan things that golfers carry their golf bags with. My great grandmother lives on Hearn Island, it's a middle-class neighborhood. The road is a small, 1-lane road that was asphalt, but they sprayed tar on it and spread white gravel on that. I think it's called "Chip Sealing"
Club Car(makes golf carts) is owned by Ingersoll-Rand .
The Police Jury Association of Louisiana was created in 1924 to improve government in Louisiana Parishes. We live in Hebert on Beouf River(kind of low class). The Police Juror owns a rent property next door to us. He sprayed some Roundup on the berries, and it also drifted over and contaminated our garden. We have a water line running to a faucet out by our dog pen, and the Entergy truck backed over it which busted it. It was a few days after new year's day, and it had just rained a day before, so the yard was wet. You take a regular light pole or telephone pole, and you put a light on it. We call them Booger Lights because you can see a person standing out there. The light was installed on the other side of the property line, but the truck came on our property. It was daytime. The worker could have installed it easier if he had parked the truck on the other property. We are just simple southern people, but we know what's wrong and what's right.

Ohhh, okayyy. So what does your motor vehicle/transportation code say about golf carts?

My great grandmother lives on Hearn Island, it's a middle-class neighborhood. The road is a small, 1-lane road that was asphalt, but they sprayed tar on it and spread white gravel on that. I think it's called "Chip Sealing" Club Car(makes golf carts) is owned by Ingersoll-Rand .

Is the road private or public? Are the golf carts being driven by golfers during their rounds of golf from a nearby club OR is there no golf course anywhere nearby and a private person is simply driving a golf cart on the road?

    Sounds unintentional = civil matter.

It was a few days after new year's day, and it had just rained a day before, so the yard was wet.

Ok, so what does a wet yard have to do with a truck busting a water line? And by "water line" are you talking about a garden hose?

You take a regular light pole or telephone pole, and you put a light on it.

Ok, so is there a difference between a "light pole" and a "pole light" or do you sometimes have a problem with arranging words?

We call them Booger Lights because you can see a person standing out there.

    mmmokay....

You make it sound like you were home when it happened. Did you talk to the driver/worker?
    Need some more Motrin...

I'm just an uncomplicated southern Cop, and I know that you need to go to the right venue to get relief and phrase questions in the form of questions rather than statements.

If your Golf Cart is isolated on an island, it is very possible that the roads are not state maintained but are actually private, which does not require any state registration that I am aware of. It could also be the case if the golf cart stays on the designated pathways of a community.

The rest of your problems are civil in nature.

BTW, I'm not sure, but that "Booger" light sounds like it might be a little bit of an antiquated terminology...
