Officers, would you dare do this

Would you drive off the motor pool in a car with NO license plates or no temp tags, because the departmet was wating on the tags from the state. To complicate matters, ,would you drive off alone in this vehicle to answer the call of a woman who thought she was the victim of a stalker?

If you mean a Department owned car, yes, I would DARE to do this.

Of course, we aren't required to have license plates on marked Department Cars here...

If it's a brand new car, that happens a lot here, while we are waiting for the tag to come in.

If you are dealing with someone (or have dealt with someone) who is identifying themselves as a police officer and you have your doubts about whether they actually are an officer, contact their department immediately.

My work car is black and white with fancy little lights on top- so yeah, I'd drive it off the lot with no plates. However, our cars normally have plates, but no tags.

If I drive an agency car with no tags, the worst-case scenario is that some Kool-Aid drinking highway hero tries to write me a summons, and gets laughed at.

If I fail to respond expeditiously to the complaint you've described, the worst-case scenario is that the woman gets raped and/or killed.

    That's an easy choice.

You've presented us with an interesting scenario. Please elaborate, with as much detail as you're comfortable sharing.

Absolutely. Why not? It's a MARKED police car. It's much easier for someone to steal or make a license plate or temp tag than it is for someone to illegally procure a marked police car.

Here s/he discusses what happens on a legal forum:

I was recently charged with resisting an officer, after taking a photo of her police car with NO license plate, permanent or temporary. In the end three officers were called to the scene and I was literally cussed like a dog, and charged. I went today to retreive copies of the citations I was issued as mine were illegible and I was provided with a copy of the front of both tickets (the other was for illegal window tint - my windows were rolled down the entire time) and an incident report. The report indicates that there is a narrative but I was refused access or viewing of that document. I intend on defending myself, am I not entitled to all the information they have and intend on using in court?

Further, it has come to my attention, that information not part of public record (the stuff I was allowed access to) has been revealed via telephone by the Sheriff of Ascension parish to a gentlemen that i have never met, in Colorado who called in. The information had to be part of the narrative as it contains intimate details of the arrest.

So, what have I got to do to gain access to this information?

A Google search of course pops up other stuff, unsure related or unrelated to the poster, including a possible hit on the persons MySpace page.
