We have an AM/FM radio. Some of the officers, at their own cost, hooked up SIRIUS (sp?) and some have a connection to their computer (antennae broadcast) so that they can play music files on their radio.

Nothing says cool like a high-speed chase blaring "Highway to the Danger Zone" :D

Our cars have stock radios. Most of us on nights also have SIRIUS. I have never missed a call because I was rockin' out.
A nod is as good as a wink to a blind bat

If you make me stop you while I'm rockin' out......
    YOU WILL RECEIVE A TICKET!

Rise up, gather round. Rock this place to the ground.
Burn it up with our fave, Rock-N-Roll with deputywave
    Rock On!

I was amazed (although scared) at the changes in Police cars since i did the ride alongs way back in the 80s. Doing 75 mph on US13 (speed limit 55) watching the Trooper shop for Bass boats on his laptop while JayZ was blaring on the radio. I know each officer is different but this Trooper, in my opinion was no different then the people he arrest. I forgot, he also drove the car slouched over leaning to the right. All you guys here that have replied to this post seem reasonable with the music deal. This was probably a bad apple. I will always respect the badge. I have to reserve judgement on the man.

What a coincidence. I tell them when I put them in my car..."You are being recorded and plexiglass in front of you is face proof." :D

Yep, unfortunately we have to recruit from the human race. There are some morons out there with badges and guns..... I've worked around more than a few... Generally they get promoted and off the road fairly quickly though.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

Ain't that the truth... and they make policy and stringently enforce all of the rules that they themselves broke into unrecognisable pieces...

I drive an Explorer. It has a tape deck and a CD player. My tastes are very eclectic. I have Delbert McClinton in the tape deck and Janis Joplin in the CD player. Of course it also has the am/fm. We aren't permitted to install the sirrus or similar type radio recievers. You know how that goes though.

I never listen to am/fm radio while on duty. I also don't care for riding 10-4 with someone who listens to am/fm while on duty.
