    Is registration needed?

I got a handgun from a friend and I'm not sure about South Carolina laws. Do I need to register this gun to keep it in my home or carry it in the car with me? Can I get a background check on this gun? Thanks, Chris

A quick google search got me this: http://carryconcealed.net/legal/sout...state-laws.php

Also, I'm assuming SC law is similar to VA and AL, where it's perfectly legal to have a firearm in your home with no permit, but you'll need the permit to carry it concealed on your person or in your vehicle.

Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice.
