How does this affect me? (NYPD)

Like the title says...now heres the REST OF THE STORY.

Sometime in 2006 i was issued a citation for speeding, and unsafe lane change. The matter has still not gone to trial (between the postponments i have made *2* and the state/officer has requested *3*). Now, when and if i get my test results back, and got and interview lets say, if i am not convicted of the summons should i still say it was received?

If convicted, how will this effect the outcome of my application? I am not looking for sympathy/a way to get out of this like MOST come on here do. I know what i did, i was wrong, and when the time comes i will accept responsibility (as much as it'd hurt me).

I've spent a few extra mins on wording this to keep flaming to a minimum. Being a LEO is my hearts ambition, and i dont know of anything else i'd rather do.

PS: It was said at my postponment that said officer was injured and couldnt make it to court (i hope he is alright). May all your tours be safe ones.

If it were me, I would mention that I'm awaiting the disposition of a traffic summons from whoever.

Not sure what it's like where you're from (assuming NYC), but the traffic summonses I am familiar with you either pay the fine or contest it.

    Did you contest your ticket?

You have to disclose that you received the summons and the outcome. Plead guilty and pay the fine if it is not settled by the time you process.

He may not "just be able to pay the fine", if his speed was in excess of 25 mph. A personal appearance is necessary.

You cannot be hired if you have any pending court situations, including moving violations.

Just to disclose that the summons was recieved? As of now, there is no outcome. Like i said, the officer had/admin have put this off for some time now (over a year and a half).

If i had other violations in the past, this statement would hold true. Most jurisdictions out of state make it a mandatory appearance if over said speed.

Overall, i was just wondering how they interpret both summons mentioned herein for the NYPD hiring process.

question: did you ever receive any type of moving summons???? WHY WOULD YOU NOT HAVE TO DISCLOSE A SUMMONS WAS GIVEN TO YOU BECAUSE IT HASNT BEEN ADJUDICATED YET?????? DID YOU RECEIVE A SUMMONS MEANS DID YOU RECEIVE A SUMMONS!

and a conviction on a 2 year old summons will not DQ you, assuming you haven't gotten any movers since then.

I got nailed in Asharoken. I was doin 25 (family lives there for 10 yrs so i know the deal), and an officer said i was doing 45  . And i thought i was getting pulled over for just a seat belt....

After they threatened me dozens of times for trying to fight it (Judge said if i find you guilty, its 30 days in jail. When i said "You wouldnt do that to me...would you?" -His answer was "I can, and i will"), i settled for imprudent speed (2 pts, IIRC).

They even gave my friend a summons for seatbelt after showing his NYPD shield. Said officer told my friend "Put that $hit away. I dont wanna see it".
