Asharoken is in Suffolk County. Their police department has SIX members at last count. SIX. Three of which are former NYPD and the rest are former Suffolk cops. All of whom respect the badge.
What the PD does not accept are traffic infractions. Since they are a very small town and self-funded. The tickets = employment & benefits. This department faces the fact each day: write tickets to pay for yourself, or end up without a job. So they write out there, a lot. On average, they are known to write 4 speeding tickets a day in that department. 4 total for all working or 1 every 6 hours.
