sorry for using the term precincts (you can tell I'm from NY huh.) Each bit of information I've obtained from the different detectives I've spoken with is what I've posted above. Nothing more, nor less. I don't see it as bits and pieces, and after rereading my posts numerous times cant find anything to really add, tho you're welcome to ask and I appreciate you reading anyway, Samuel.

mcsap, exactly. But one detective told me I "should've been contacted when the van was impounded as I was the last registered owner. The DMV investigators said what you did, the auction sale erases the previous owners.

I know from all this research that the only thing I have is to find and bring suit against this person. The only thing my brother and I could think of is if I had information on the impounding, perhaps there was an arrest made and if I could see who that was, make a connection between him and the person I'm looking for.

But it seems that I can't obtain that info.
