What can I do?

A friend of mine took some items from my home without my permission. She was visiting one day and took a hoodie and shirt. She later told me. Being a good friend I let her borrow them for a little while after she told me. When I asked for them back she REFUSED. I've asked several times since and every time she refuses to return my items. I was curious if there was anything I can do about this. I would hate to get the law involved but if she keeps refusing to return them I may have to. I do not know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you at one time gave her permission to have them, and now she won't give them back, then it is not a criminal matter.

You would have to sue her in small claims court for the return of your belongings.

Let me clarify. You willingly gave it to her. Unless you have a written contract, why sweat a Hoody and a Shirt.:p

Unless they cost more than the trouble of a Civil Lawsuit, be done with her and get new clothes or the same ones. Whichever does'nt involve all of this clothing DRAMA!!!:rolleyes:

You then allowed her to borrow them , now it has become a civil matter , not a police matter or a crime. You are on your own.

Judge Judy and all the other "courtroom" dramas are legally considered to be "alternative dispute resolution by arbitration". JJ will pay you to come on the show, and pay whatever she orders as a settlement.

Perhaps Melles should look into this. :rolleyes:

Taking a hoodie and t-shirt is no big deal in my opinion. At least, she didn't steal any money or anything really expensive from you. But she should have asked you first. You don't just take things from a friend without asking.

In fakt, a friend don't "borrow" items without my permission. Look for other friends and let her go whereever she want with your clothes but no in your house!
