Need Help Asap Please!!

Hi everybody i have a problem and need answers i live in ny and applied for corrections and my back ground turned up a mental evaluation from 21 years ago.I was a kid and seeing a girl far away and feeling bad my mom seen the letter and i said something like i would kill myself without you.DO YOU THINK I WILL BE DQ FOR THIS! It was so long ago please help asap!

I don't think that would disqualify you. Young people often say things out of emotion and not out of logic. You will more than likely have another evaluation and that will be the deciding factor.

It's certainly going to raise some red flags, but I think it would only be a small hurdle to jump assuming you have no mental health history past that.

I may be reading into it but it seems like the phrase "turned up" indicates that something was discovered that you failed to initially disclose. I'm my department, the evaluation would probably not be disqualifying (depdending on the contents) however, purposely failing to disclose something is almost always an automatic DQ.

I guess it all depends on the circumstances what your chances are, and what the standards are for the department to which you apply.

All they did is have me sign a conset to disclose the info to investigate what was in my file. thank you for your response! All responses help me through this!
